Terms of use
The rules for using NjangiBook, the tool that keeps the njangi book for njangis (tontines).

This translation is provided for convenience. If there is any difference, the French version prevails.
1. The service
NjangiBook lets a njangi record its members, rules, calendar, contributions, fines, attendance, minutes, events and fund, and share this information with its members. The service is currently free.
2. NjangiBook does not handle money
NjangiBook does not collect, hold or transfer any funds. Payments, deposits and loans are made directly between members (cash, bank transfer). NjangiBook is not a bank, a payment or credit institution, nor a party to the njangi: financial commitments bind only the members among themselves, according to the rules they signed.
3. Roles and responsibilities
- The treasurer creates the njangi, sets the rules, approves sign-ups and keeps accurate accounts.
- The president checks and validates the agreement and approves loans; the secretary of each meeting writes the minutes.
- Each member provides accurate information and keeps their personal link confidential.
- The committee is responsible for the information it asks members for (in particular ID documents) and for how it is used.
4. Links, codes and security
Access is through secret links and, for the treasurer and the secretary, a PIN code. Do not share them. If a link is lost or shared by mistake, the treasurer can create a new one: the old one stops working immediately.
5. Signing the rules
The drawn signature (or acceptance), the typed name, the date and the digital fingerprint of the version of the rules are recorded. They form a simple electronic signature within the meaning of the eIDAS Regulation (EU 910/2014) and prove each member's acceptance of the rules.
6. Prohibited uses
Fraudulent use, collecting data unrelated to the njangi, attempting to access another njangi's data, disrupting the service. Any abuse may lead to access being removed.
7. Availability and liability
The service is provided "as is", with the reasonable care of a community tool. The publisher cannot be held liable for disputes between members, amounts entered by the committee, or losses caused by improper use. The committee is encouraged to export the ledger regularly (CSV export).

These terms may change; the date of the last update is shown at the top of the page.
